Weekend games...

I got to admit a sense of glee did come over me on seeing Inter's fall into the abyss of failure. They have been at the top so long that it will be a refreshing change to see some other team on top- even if it's not Juventus.

Milan against Brescia was something of a sad sight for any Brescia fan, as they were thrashed 3-0. Milan welcomed back the return of Andrea Pirlo, who some still think is in the wrong position. He was rather high up the field and Kevin- Prince Boetang was sitting in the hole just behind the two strikers. It didn't seem to matter as much as it was Boetang to get the first shot on goal, and what could be said about the shot, except a well worked move that was brilliantly executed. What I found was a sign of something positive from the Rossoneri, was that Zlatan was actually moving and instead of waiting for the ball, he went to it.
Something that was similar in the game with Juventus. Vincenza Iaquinta was moving and providing for others. In the game he provided two assists, one to Simone Pepe who was on for the suspended Claudio Marchisio, and the second for Fabio Quagliarella- which I have to admit, I was hoping he would get it after his first attempt was disallowed. Which perhaps brings up the question of more technology in football, especially on the goal line. The ball obviously went over the line but because we, the viewers saw it from the replays, which begs the question why can't the officials use that because the action goes rather quickly and you can't see everything, so why not?

But the issue that I feared the most was so glaringly obvious, Krasic was being smothered! The Play by Juventus was starting to become predictable and teams realised that they needed to double up on Krasic. However, if they do this they will inevitable leave one player unmarked, and Juve didn't take advantage of this until the 35th minute when a free Pepe ran onto the ball.

If Juve can learn these lessons I believe a bright future will be their for the taking. It is up to them to try and sustain this momentum.

Forza Juve!!
