Juventus 0-2 Bologna (Serie A) Ampia Sintesi/All Goals |26-02-2011

Blast from the Past- Juventus V Bologna

Absolute heartbreak....What more can I say, they tried to keep the pace going but they just lacked that cutting edge that was needed, even with Del Piero at half time didn't help. It's week 27, there is no more room for error, and they are facing the in-form Milan, who have plenty of good marksmen that will take the shot when Juve make a mistake and score with absolute precision.

The first half was all Juve they were keeping Bologna in their own half for most of the time. But it.s no good if you cannot put together a decent attack, which Juventus struggled to do with alarming frequency. The end of the first half saw the game become more frantic, more reckless tackle and more " theatrical" fallen was becoming all to apparent. It was a cheap way to get possession back, and most of the time if Iaquinta had stayed on his feet instead of going to ground, they would've held onto the ball long enough to put a good attack together. The longer the game went goal less, the more Bologna grew in confidece, but the first opportunity to open the scoring fell kindly to Iaquinta. It came from a corner and only the woodwork kept it out, had it gone in the outcome may have changed.

The second half saw a more confident Bologna, and it wasn't long before their veteran striker, Marco Di Vaio ( Ex Juve man) found the back of the net. On the 49th the Olmpico was in stun silence as Juve were on the back foot, yet again! Although the contingent of travelling Bologna fan were ecstatic. Juve are guilty of relying on the off side trap, they shout realise that a man of Di Vaio's mature age will be able to get passed it. And while they were waiting for the flag to rise, they were down by one goal.

The Bianconeri did start to make more chances, and the first chance came to Leonaardo Bonucci in the 65th minute, he got on the end of a free kick by Del Piero but didn't have enough intensity to put it in the back of the net. And within a minute Juve were punished for their lack of desire, again Di Vaio got the ball passed Bonnuci and Grygera and beat Storari at the near post.

To Bonocci's credit he was maybe the only player who looked like scoring when his header went inches wide. In the 84th minute Luca Toni had an opportunity to get a consolation goal, but it wasn't meant to be as Portanova cleared it from the goal line and Bologna went back on the counter attack. It ended 2-0 with the home fans visibly frustrated as this was Juve's second 2-0 defeat in a row and they could not handle a third.

Juve stay stuck in seventh and it doesn't look as though Agnelli's speech had helped Juve in any way, it may have actually made things worse!! Juve have lost the thing that had made them special and it breaks my heart to see them this way.

Europe without Italy...

The final blow to the credibility of Italian football- they have lost a Champions League spot due to their poor performances in Europe. This may not come to much surprise as Napoli were knocked out the Europa League against Spanish side, Villareal. This and the fact that all the Italian teams in Europe have lost the first legs in the Champions League, and it saddens me. I know they are better than this, as I watch Serie A week after week, and I am always entertained. Although I am not surprised that they lost their place to Germany, as the Bundesliga is enthralling and German football has really changed for the better. What would have been devastating, is if they lost that space to England!!! English football is like basketball- it just goes from one end to another with no thinking in between.

Milan had great CL pedigree, I mean they had won 7 and the last one was in 2007. Inter had won the Treble last year... and I ask you what has gone wrong?? The decision to take away the spot from Italy didn't come overnight, it was over 10 years and in that time UEFA saw a steady decline in quality from the Italians.

This is just a little sad as I find Serie A to be an exciting League, who would've guessed that Napoli would be fighting for the title? The Italian game is more technical skill but that's where the beauty lies, it's a sad thing that no one else can appreciate that beauty. Yet I do hope that this snub will be the push that the Italian League needs to be promoting their youth systems, this is one of the main reasons behind Germany's success, they have an excellent youth system and they now how to nurture their youths to get the best out of them.

The Allure of Italy....

Many player are quickly labeled as "lazy" or "childish" or a waste of money when they don't perform in the EPL, but then they come to Italy and they blossom. Players like Robinho and Aquilani. Robinho was classed as a lazy player who didn't want to work for the team and he massively under performed, but at AC Milan he is seen working hard for the team, scoring goals and more importantly helping his teammates score.... and you want to know why..... He is happier in Italy, and it's not hard to see why.

Italy is a beautiful country, where people take pride in themselves and where they live and above all the weather is always nice. Know I know Milan has similar weather to England, but one thing it has in abundance is...GLAMOUR. And with all the money that the EPL have, they lack this and this might be why Davide Silva of Man City is also unhappy.. two players leave from the same club- Robinho was also at Man City- this is no coincidence.

Another player who has maybe not thrived at Italy, but he has certainly improved is Alberto Aquilani. He is currently on loan at Juve from Liverpool. Apparently Liverpool want him back....But here's the deal..he doesn't want to return. But the real sad thing is that Juve might not be able to pay the £11 mill for him. The price does seem excessive and they may not be able to keep hold of him, but if he does return to England and his performance does start to decline because he is unhappy- what then?

Florence - Italy

Siena Italy

The " Special One"

.. That is Jose' Mourinho. Trezeguet has reportedly suggested that Juventus should appoint him as a replacement for Delneri.. How would that help them financially, he has a bloated ego with an even greater distorted view on his self worth!!! Please for the love pf everything holy, don't appoint him. He is what is wrong with the game. He encourages bad play encourages fouling players to get them sent off, he encourages his players to be petulant when thing are not going their war but above all he encourages his players to be disrespectful- just remember how Inter have become...Okay, okay they might have won the Trebel, but at what cost... everyone hates them.

It will become so hard to support Juventus if they appoint slimeball Mourinho. He not only encourages disrespect, but he also has no respect for anyone else- refs, Managers or other players. And why would he come back to Italy after he's achieved everything there? And a major obstacle will be money, Juve will not be so free with the cash, and at all his previous clubs he has had a blank cheque- will he be able to achieve the same feat on a budget???

Lecce VS Juventus 2 - 0 All Goals & Highlights [20/2/2011]

Lecce V Juventus...

How did it go so wrong in a week?? After last week where they grounded out a 1-0 victory against bitter rivals Inter, it was being hailed as a " turning point" in their season a comeback of sorts. In that game they came out fighting and had a sturdy backline, whereas in the game against Lecce, they were caught napping and didn't really feel like getting in this game.. Juve were duly punished for their arrogance and dismissive attitude with a 2-0 loss at the hands of Il Lupi.

Lecce were the stronger side and were never really put under pressure by The Old Lady and the statistics only confirm this, Juve had just 1 shot on target throughout the entire game. Lecce's game was made all that easier when on the 12th minute Gianluigi Buffon got a straight red for handling the ball outside his area. Buffon was not helped by the poor defending by Juve that let the Lecce player just run straight past him. For the rest of the game the Bianconeri were down to 10 and had lost all creativity. One thing that may have fan frustrated is the fact that instead of taking someone like Toni off, who didn't have the best games, they took off Krasic, arguably one of their best players. Krasic bring pace and creativity but ultimately he works for every ball. He could have played well with Matri. Krasic has become a victim of his own pace, he is simply too fast for his teammates and that's why Juve were forced to do long balls, in the vain hope that some one will knock it in.

This kind of play is very outdated and it could shed some light on why they are called the old lady of Italian football. They have to play shorter balls and get the passing going, and not just rely on a tall target man, because this is a very english way of playing and it is very easy to defend against, all the opposition has to do is smother the targetman and hey presto!

Another thing Juventus are guilty of relying on is the off side trap. This is not the best way to get back the ball as it will only work if there is a common understanding between the back line, which is clear by todays game, there is not.

Juve have a shaky back line and a blunt attack, something has to be done to rectify this. Del Piero came on at half time, the record breaking striker had some moments of inspiration, but not enough to help Juve climb back up the table. Delneri has to do something fast to stop them from dropping further into obscurity. Marchisio may want to put this game behind him and look to the next game against Bologna... but wil they learn anything from this game, because let us not forget the big game against Milan is fast approaching. Will Juve be able to fix the leak by then... that is the question?

Big mistake!!

The biggest mistake I've made so far.. is to watch Clash of the Titans. Bad acting, poor casting and bad writing and the some meaningless set pieces was just terrible. This film was not engaging at all. so much so that we would have full blown conversations throughout the film and not care. First of all the film was rushed. Sam Worthington's character became a warrior far to soon after being a fisherman.. there was no character development, you felt nothing for the fallen solders. And not to mention the sounded to American, this is meant to be Ancient Greece, the birthplace of philosophy!!

They would stop in the middle of an action piece to five a speech.. not cheesy at all!! I think so!! The effects were not so impressive to make up for the bad acting and poor storyline. And at the end, the best that even the Titans couldn't defeat, only took Sam 30 seconds! The original was 10 times better than this and that was stop animation. A terrible film, only worth a watch if your brain dead or suicidal! 0 out of 5, I found this film insulting! And Gemma Arteton was annoying as hell, It was such a tease to kill her and then bring her back at the end!!

The Gods will be so outraged!

Juventus- victims of their own stupidity...

I hear this foul voice on the air.... Juve might get rid of Aquilani and buy Pirlo instead?? Andrea Pirlo is a great player, he was part of the 2006 World Cup winning team... But he's in his thirties and has had an injury problem for a long time. I kow Juve directors and backroom staff have a soft spot for the old great i.e Toni, and they want to save the pennies, but what they don't seem to understand is the long term damage this will do. Pirlo is by no means a long term solution, and have they not seen that Milan are doing quite well without him- minus the CL game.

Aquilani will have just one season playing for Juve under his belt, this is a huge injustice as not only has he not reached his full potential, but the fans have not seen his full potential, they have been teased with glimpses of genius and we also see a creative, young and a player who is not afraid to take risks. Please... If anyone is reading this, Please don't make the same mistake you did last year, where you sold Diego after 1 season and made a significant loss!!

Arsenal V Barcelona..

Some evil is in the air, this cannot be true....Arsenal 2 Barcelona 1, but alas it is. Arsenal are maybe the only team worthy of beating The Catalans, but the way the media portray it, is like the English defeated Spain.. no no English football is still to primitive and Barbaric to ever compare. It was a Russian and a Dutchman who defeated them, theEnglish player may be have pace but they lack creativity and skill- and like I've said about Spurs, pace can only get you so far.

And what I find absolutely hilarious is how everyone is raving about this kid : Jack Wilshire, he wasn't that good.. but the way the media portray him, is like the second coming. I think the British need to remember how crap they were at the World Cup, I think they've forgotten... Someone should remind them!

Milan V Spurs...

... What the hell happened??? Milan were defeated by spurs??? Something has gone seriously wrong in the world, I mean first the upheaval in North Africa and now this... Having not seen the match I can't say alot, but I have read all the reviews, and what I can tell from that is that Milan were out paced, not out played. Spurs just have speed but no skill, and that can only get you so far.
It was a fairly physical match with a number of players getting kicked about, but they play in the Premiership, so they should be used to all that. Well the Rossoneri's game got of to the worst of starts when Abbiati clashed with the giant freak that is Crouch, it's reported that he will only be out for 5 days, his replacement, Marco Amelia did well, other than let in the goal, but it wasn't his fault as Milan were caught out on the quick counter attack and then that enormous freak just knocked it in, no class at all!

Ibrahimovich did score a last gasp equaliser, that was then scrubbed off because the ref saw a push, what's up with that?!!! Milan had a completely re- shuffled team and because most of the player were ineligible, they were without Antonio Cassano, who works better with Ibrahimovic than Pato, the were also without Andrea Pirlo, Massimo Ambrosini and Kevin Prince- Boetang.

It's not over yet as Milan have already won this competition 7 times, and experience will play a huge part in the second leg, and Milan will be cheesed off to say the least- as Gattuso has already made abundantly clear!

Does loyalty exist?

.... In the World of Football it is looking like the answer to this question is a resounding NO. Players are leaving after one season for a club that has more money or even the rivals I.e Zlatan in 06, when he left Juventus for Inter. It is rather hard for the fans, as they get used to a player and he is off by the next season. Also it can be harsh for the player as he has just started to get to know his teammates and their playing style, and in a flash he is shipped off, so the club can cash in.

Players like Maldini, Del Piero and Di Natale will surely be a thing of the past. Maldini spent 25 seasons at Milan and decided to hangup his boots at the age of 40. His prestigious career includes: 5 Champions League victories, 7 Serie A victories, 1 Coppa Italia, 5 Suppercoppa Italiano, 5 European Supercups, and 2 Intercontinental Cups, while also winning " The Best Defender" trophy at the UEFA Club football awards at age 39. He has also spent 14 years playing at International level and retired in 2002. Maldini was considered as a true leader and hence earning him the nickname " Il Capitano". Any player who aspires to command as much respect and achievement as Il Capitano, he will have to try to stay at a club for more then two seasons. Not only will you then be considered a success by your peers but also the fans. As a fan, I will respect a person that has been with the club through the ups and downs, and not just in it for the glory days.

That is why Alessandro Del Piero is so loved by the fans. His position as a striker might mean that he will have to retire sooner than Maldini but he will still have a special place in the history books and the hearts of the fans. He started his Juventus career in 1993 and is still going from strength to strength, he may not have the same pace as he once did but he has swapped it with experience and a great footballing mind. In his career he has won : 5 Serie A title, 1 Serie B title, 4 Supercoppa Italiano, 1 Coppa Italia, 1 Intertoto Cup, 1 UEFA Champions League, 1 UEFA Super Cup and 1 Intercontinental Cup. He was also part of the 2006 Italy side that won the World Cup. Amongst his club and National achievements he also has many individual achievements including : Juventus Top Scorer, Golden Foot award in 07 and has won the award for Italian footballer of the year twice, in 1998 and 2008. Del Piero will always be loved by the fans as he was the few senior players that decided to stay when Juve got relegated to the Italian second division. He is the few footballers who will always be remembered as a great professional.

It came as no surprise when Antonio Di Natale refuse a move to Juventus in the summer. He understood and appreciated how much he was loved at Udinese. Not only is he a very important figure at Udinese but he also showed that he was smart by staying at the club. He is a regular starter at the club and his importance to the club is well documented. He has won Serie A top scorer and Best Italian Footballer in 2010 and he knew that if he decided to move to a bigger team like Juve, he would have to fight for a spot and would more likely be a benchwarmer. And considering he is 31, not many team would want him, but that's their loss ass he is still a pacy player with incredible goalscoring prowess.

So my message to all you new footballers is pretty clear; if you want to be a renowned and successful player.. maybe you should sit still for a while because you never know what could happen in the future!!

Juventus-Inter 1-0 | SKY Calcio HD | Sintesi 13/2/2011 25^ Giornata Serie A

Juventus V Inter

Absolute ecstasy is the best way to describe my emotional state right now... but a part of me is thinking about the cost of this victory. Matri was the walking wounded for the last 20 minutes of the game, he was in obvious discomfort and made it clear to the Juve staff that he couldn't play, but he had to stay on the pitch, considering Juve had already made all their changes. Effectively Juvetus were playing with 10 men- and boy was it a heart in mouth situation, I should have had paramedics on call, as there were moments I was going to have a heart attack!

Juventus started this game the brighter side, but this was so often their pattern. They would start off with energy and then get caught napping. Bazargli and Bonnucci did surprisingly well in defence and the ever green, Chiellini would be running himself into the ground on the left side. He still finds it difficult to get out of some sticky situations and does seem to go to ground often, but he is good at what he does- he starts most of the attacking play.

Not to my surprise Juve only had 35% possession, and this can be attributed to Juve's tendency to go for the long balls and wayward passes. I know I said the dangers of having Sorenson on the pitch, but what can I say, he proved me wrong. It was his curling pass that had meet Matri's head, but the whole move begun with the trickery of Krasic. Krasic had all the Inter players thinking that he would cross it, but they didn't expect him to lay it off for Sorenson. It is this quick thinking and unselfish behaviour that all the Juve fans love about him.

The introduction of Iaquinta near the end of the second half added nothing to the attack, actually it might have taken things away from the attack. Whereas Toni would attack the ball, win headers and hold up the ball, Iaquinta did none of this and one has to feel sorry for Matri as a lot of the burden was still on him. But The Old Lady did well to hold on for the three points and more importantly, a clean sheet. But what can be said with absolute certainty... this is a great result for Milan.

The fall of The Roman Empire..

Roma V Napoli was a hard game to watch, it was not only a poor performance from the home side but also a very scrappy one. This game produced a total of nine yellow cards, and 5 of them were Roma players. It was obvious that each team wanted to win it, but Napoli looked the sharper and you always knew they were going to score sooner or later. However from viewing the first half of this game, you wouldn't have been wrong for thinking it was going to end goal less or atleast in a draw. But it did liven up in the second half, and lo and behold Napoli scored on 49 minutes through curious circumstances. It was scored from the penalty spot by Cavani yet the way in which the were awarded the penalty was being highly contested. It had looked as though Marek Hamsik had fallen over himself, but he did make a meal of it making it look like there was contact, and hence the penalty.

Napoli just grew into the game and looked fiery at times, while Roma looked tire and it's sad to say, but they seemed rather toothless in attack. Roma had 58% possession but didn't know what to do with it. Throughout the entire game, they only had two shots on goal. They were going to get punished further as Edison Cavani extended the lead again on the 83rd minute. It was too late for Roma to make any kind of fight back- even with Francesco Totti, who looked tired even before he set foot on the pitch!

Napoli then continue to defy the odds and are becoming title contenders, while Roma are left to ponder about what might have been.

2006 FIFA World Cup Semifinal: Italy vs. Germany

Germany vs Italy 1-1 Friendly Game [09/02/11] All Goals

International friendlies...

.. Well the one that everyone voted for to see live was unsurprisingly, Brazil V France, how quickly people forget the great exploits of the Germans!! Well anyway, the game was very open and attacking from both side, however I think they didn't receive the memo, where it said it was a friendly- because this was anything but. Both teams wanted to win at all cost, so there were tackles flying in from all sides- some good, some not so good. Benzema was perhaps the most unluckiest Frenchman, chance after chance but no goal, this isn't a stain on him, because one has to admit Julio Cesar in goal, was never going to let it in. But eventually he did let one in and surprise surprise, it was Karim Benzema and the French were infront. The Frenchman was duly rewarded for having the audacity to score against the Brazilians by getting a boot to the shoulder. It was not as severe as the " flying kick" in the World Cup final against Alonso, but it was rightly deemed as dangerous and France were down to 10 men and went on to lose. But what they have to remember- it was only a friendly!

ESPN did show Italy V Germany straight after so you didn't hear the scores by accident, but I have to admit, I was tempted to check because this game was so fast and was so open and end to end I didn't think I would be able to handle it!

The main headline before the game was about Thiago Motta. His sudden allegiance to the Italian was bemusing, he did however bring in the dirty play that we have come to expect from Inter which I didn't appreciate. He was given the only yellow card of the game and was rightly substitute after 63 minutes as he was getting more and more petulant and lashing out at Sami Khedira. The first 45 minute went so quickly that if you turned away for a second you would miss something. However I did wish that I had turned away at 16 minutes, at Miroslav Klose got the square ball from Muller and he knocked it in for the opening goal.

This Italian side showed great sprit and determination, as they never allowed their heads to go down from being a goal down for most of the game. The second half started as the first had ended- Attack, attack and attack. With 10 minutes remaining Giuseppe Rossi scored a wonderful goal and it ended all square.

Whomever said friendlies were meaningless should have seen these games!

How to defeat the Evil Empire.. Derby d'Italia part 2

... I mean Inter when I say evil empire. After the win against Cagliari, all eyes will be on the Derby d'Italia. The whole of Italy will be a Juve fan for the day..except Inter fans of course!

Inter have Cristian Chivu out through suspension and Diego Milito will be out for a month through injury, Juventus have no players suspended but an ever growing injury list, with Marchisio adding to it. Although his is not thought to be serious there is nothing wrong with preparing for the worst! Krasic is on a yellow card, Juve will be looking to him to run Inter's man Maico ragged on the left hand side. Juve can't make the same mistake Roma did on the weekend and give Sneijder room, the Juventus defence must be on him straight away!

Inter have be known for their dirty tactics and hurting people, so this is when Juve's hard men come in, Felipe Melo and Chiellini need to be savvy to this. Juve may have to sacrifice Fredrick Sorenson, his enthusiasm is well above anyone else but the lad is still very inexperienced.. he is only 18!

If Juventus can muster a win, the whole of Serie A (and me!) will appreciate it, and this will also help build up some confidence in the team and see them rise up where the belong.

Monday 7 February 2011

Which League?

... Which is the best league to play in? Now that is a very difficult question to answer, England is Barbaric, Italy is somewhere in the middle, so it's a two way tie between Germany and Spain.

In the English Premier league you will risk a broken leg if you have any semblance of talent. It's like they are threatened by real talent and the real cave man like behaviour comes out. How many English player have you seen that play abroad?... Almost none, because all the money is here but what they don't realise is, the talent is elsewhere. The top 4 Premier League teams are full of foreign talent, now that may be good for Europe but not for the national team...because let's face it, they're rubbish.

Italy however do have talent but it is still rather physical. And players that have talent i.e Krasic, Nedved get bombarded with tackles in an effort to stop them playing. It happened to Nedved and he was forced to retire, because the knocks were coming in all the time and he was reaching the age where he didn't heal as fast. I see the same happening to Krasic, he is more often than none seen smothered in opposing players and inevitable on the ground. Hence he is got the reputation as a diver, which I think is rather unfair as he is the main threat and will get targeted.

So from what I've seen, I would have to go with Spain. They know how to help the game flow and players are less likely to get broken legs! Yet there League table always has the same two teams fighting for to spot- not very exciting. Yet with Germany, the top spot currently belongs to Borussia Dortman while the mighty Bayern Munich are 5th.

So you see my dilemma.

How Rome failed us...

Inter v Roma was a match that you thought was a foregone conclusion, but wait... it was almost a perfect comeback, but Inter have a knack of getting the win anyway. It is like a universal law in Serie A, teams may dislike each other, but everyone HATES Inter. They have a certain evilness about them, when things don't seem to go the way they want they lash out, get extremely petulant and use underhanded tactic to try and get players sent off.

Last nights game was so cruel as Roma played some very attacking football, but the defence was a bit suspect, but the same can also be said about Inter. Inter only prevailed because they had so many players who are attack minded and a certain annoying, short Dutchman in Wesley Sneijder!

Roma were without the talismatic Totti through illness but they put in an admirable performance with out him. The might of Rome was brought down by their own foolishness as Nicolas Burdisso saw red in the 62nd minute and Roma had to play the rest of the game with 10 men. I have to admit my heart did slump in my chest and I was all but ready to change the channel, but deep in my heart I knew Inter had flaws, like Maicon who likes nothing more than bombing it forward, helping the attack but ultimately leaving a gap for Roma to exploit, but that was made ten times more difficult since they were down to 10 men. But one must realise that while Inter have a formidable attack, they are still lead by a novice. Leonardo may have the hugs and kisses down.. but he still has to work on the tactical side of the game.

Raineri is an experienced manager with stints all over Europe, and it was this reason I kept watching. And I'm so glad I did because in the 75th minute Vucinic and then Loria scored but as fate would have it so did Cambiasso, and it ended 5-3 to the Nerazzurri.

Saturday 5 February 2011

Cagliari V Juventus

A much needed three points and two player that needed to get on the score sheet. Alessandro Matri, the former Cagliari player needed those two goals to boost his confidence, and after the absolute sitters he missed on his debut, this will help erase that from the fan's memories and hopefully ease his transition into a big club. And Luca Toni, well what can be said about the big target man... he has his uses and he just illustrated his point. He is a player that is prone to injury, so part of me was just praying that he didn't get injured, because God knows Juve's injury list is quite full as it is.

However I did see Juve making silly errors and giving the ball away in dangerous areas. This can be attributed to the way the conduct there defence, it is starting to become obvious that Gigi Del Neri is a fan of zonal marking, and because of this we are seeing Juve players clustering in similar position while an opposing player is left unmarked and allowed to get an opportunity to shot. Throughtout the game this was happening and because of this Juve weren't able to move forward and would often lose possession. If one player has the ball they will often need to pass it to a available player inorder to move the attack along, now this will not be possible if you're all standing in the same areas.

Fredrick Sorenson is still very young and inexperience. so he can be excused when he makes an error, but someone really needs to tell him because Inter will do everything in their power to exploit this. This game did have me tense up until the final whistle, I don't think I'll be able to handle the game against Inter. If they are to overcome the Nerazzurri, they are to continue working on defending set pieces and try to do more short passes and one twos, as when they did this they had their best chances to score. And most importantly, they should try to avoid making predictable long passes to the front men, as it was the quick short passes that helped them overcome Cagliari.

Good TV.. A thing of the past..

Has anyone noticed how everything is dumbed down to the simplest storyline. This is in relation to the fact that people have become dumber... Now all these so called reality shows are popping up and it is more to do with the fact that people have a taste for putting people down and making sure they have their chance to spit on them! We have become a society that relishes the opportunity to see someone else get humiliated... this is just horrible!

But not only TV but also movies are being dumbed down inorder to get more profit from all the stupid people. There is just a bunch of badly written and executed movies out there, with a dollup of cheese. I mean in a world where Twilight is considered to be " genius", you have to start thinking, that something is wrong with the world. And everything has to have a warm and fuzzy ending, I tell you know, it's incredibly insulting!!

It's becoming so hard to find anything decent that I've started to look to the past, you know before all the PC malarkey... and you know what...I didn't break and actually found it rather hilarious!

Thursday 3 February 2011

Milos Krasic

....He is a wonderful addition to Juventus he injects much needed pace and creativity to the side, he can also be too fast for his own good. This has lead to many people suggesting that he's a diver and a cheat, but I beg to differ. Krasic is not a huge man, he is rather skinny, and he does like to change direction rather quickly which could in turn put him off balance.

And one thing that people are forgetting is that know he has been known as a major threat, so the opposing players will no to double up on him and chop him down. Why is it that all the other cases of diving go unnoticed, but a player like Krasic who possesses genuine skill gets crucified by making the same mistakes? I mean ever since he " dived" against Bologna in week 8, they have not stopped talking about it, people are just nitpicking now, because they cannot find anything wrong with him.

He is a rather quiet guy if you watch him in a game, he doesn't have tantrums or makes a lot of fuss, and what I appreciate the most is the small fact that when he misses a chance or something goes wrong, he doesn't start yelling at his teammate i.e Zlatan Ibrahimovic. And I'm just anticipating the day when one of his teammates decides enough is enough and takes a swing at him. Because Zlatan has to realise that his fellow Milan players are just people, and people make mistakes.

Palermo-Juve 2-1 Ampia Sintesi *Premium C. "HD* (2011)

Palermo V Juventus...

.... Is it just me or has Juve lost all creativity? They almost play football like the English, you know, long and wish full passing. Know I know Juve have more class then that, but I do think that ever since they started to rely on big target men like Amauri and Iaquinta they have forgotten what else they can do.

Thank God for Krasic, he is fast, creative and he brings a new dimension to the game, without him Juve would be boring to watch ( and it's causing me physical pain saying this!) They can't keep relying on Del Piero, I know in the situation they are in now with all the injuries, they have to because they have no one else. But there was a time when Juve played beautiful football and knew how to win games. The times with the likes of Nedved, Camoranesi, Zambrotta and Trezeguet.

One thing about Krasic is that there is only one of him and sometimes it does seem that he tries to take on everyone because he doesn't believe that the others can do it. Just imagine if Diego was still there, what a thought, with all that creativity and the added pace of Milos, it would have been enough to revive the Old Lady. The one thing that Krasic misses is physical presence, he has the speed to get away from peaople but he doesn't have the power to hold up the ball while he waits for his teammates, this is why he is often seen just going it alone, and the result can be very frustrating because he needs help!

Juve always start the game sloppy and this could have been the sloppiest by letting in two goals within 20 minutes. And they both could have been avoided, if they had closed Pastore down and if they were better at defending set pieces. Juve have a way about them, they tend to nod off at the most inconvenient times. But Juve did get one goal back, and it was just after the Juve slaims for a penalty fell on deaf ears. Bovo of Palermo had clearly handled the ball with his outstretched arm but apparently the ref did not see this. This was then followed by outraged Juve players mobbing the ref and Marchisio promptly getting a yellow card. But it was through this huge injustice that Claudio Marchisio halved the deficit and the game was still alive.

Alessandro Matri didn't make the impact that everyone was hoping, the pressure had seemed to get to him as he missed chances that would have been the way back for The Bianconeri. One player that is starting to become more and more of a liability is Felipe Melo. He is starting to get rather hot headed and is starting to collect yellow cards at an alarming rate- one thinks that maybe Juve should have offloaded him and not Diego.

Juve put in an admirable fightback and came agonizingly close to getting the equaliser. It just wasn't Juve's day, but I can still hope that with all the players back to match fitness, they can make their way back up the table.

I still have hope!

The transfer merry go round..

So many player are being offloaded, and it seems as though they have all decided to go at the sametime! Amauri to Parma, Legrottaglie to Milan, Matri to Juventus, Pazzini to Inter, it's alot to keep straight!

Amauri was having an awful time at Juve that was clear and he hadn't scored in almost 18 months. That can play very heavily on a player, many " fans" don't appreciate this, but if you haven't scored in so long your confidence will be extremely low and you'll fall prey to the hurtful words of the media. The media has a way of building up a player to a God like status and just as quickly tearing him down. And this can hurt a player even more when they are in a goal drought like Amauri. Parma does have a way of revitalising players, just look at Herman Crespo. Amauri will be in good company, as he will have Giovinco, Candreva and Palladino, all former Juve players who have since got more playing time and have become an important fixture in the side.

I am rather surprised about the treatment that Legrottaglie has received from the Bianconeri. He has been with the club since 2003 with some loan deals in between, but he is a central defender, and a rather tall one! And considering how Juve have been letting in the goals lately, one would have hoped that they kept him. But for a long time now Juve have preferred the partnership of Bonucci and Chiellini to the veteran and he has thusly become a benchwarmer. But in a defensive position, having experience in vital and may even trump youth, as was made evident by last weekends game against Udinese where Bonucci was given a straight red and misses the next match.

As a devoted Juventus fan I can only hope and pray that the Bazargli and Matri can find their feet fast and put Juve back on track.
