Mind over Media

Our mind is a wonderful gift, we can nourish it and let it flourish into something wonderful, or we can choose to neglect it and let it distinguish very slowly. Your mind is a muscle, and like a muscle, if you stop using it, it will start to suffer from atrophy and slowly become useless altogether. As human beings we should  be able to prevent this, through books, games, television shows, magazines and not to forget music but all these forms are now pure dribble( except for videogames which are amazing)! Every types of media we are exposed to can influence what we think is worth doing and guide us towards what is actually important.

The media covers a broad spectrum, it consists of the more obvious like films and television shows to magazines, newspapers and advertising. And because it is in nearly every aspect of our lives, it should act responsibly- shouldn’t it?  The media which was once a source of information has now become a great tool to distract the masses. One simply has to look at the so called hit TV shows, where once they included strong characters, a masterful story that not only entertains you but also encourages higher thought and provokes serious debates. Films and programmes such as: Battlestar Galactica, The X Files, Lost, Minority Report, V for Vendetta, The Day after Tomorrow, Crash, Donnie Darko, The Bourne Trilogy, Gladiator, The Lord of the Rings.  The latter which is 10 years old and is still enjoyed by many, and you know why?? It’s rather simple actually….more effort was made on the story telling that simply having big set- pieces to put in the trailer
.
The X files is even older and is still relevant to the world today. It started in 1993, and yes the fashion may need to be updated a little  but that's it. They discuss Government corruption, the effects of GMO's, poverty, human behaviour, religious fanaticism, corporate greed, mass surveillance  etc. It may have to come in the form of aliens, but that's just to bring some entertainment value!

Each film deals with a serious issue in society from Crash which deals with racism to V for Vendetta, which is a take on George Orwell’s dystopian reality in his book 1984. Even The Bourne Trilogy, which some may coin as a “ pop corn” film has a serious theme- the misuse of Government power and a whistleblower on the run- sound familiar???     The Day after Tomorrow is about the human effect on the planet and how everything, no matter how insignificant they may seem, they all still matter. These films dealt with real issues and forced you to engage with the issues, rather than being a passive spectator.

Films that are made now are all either about sex, romantic relationships or this false idea of what it is to have a family. All the movies push this idea that getting married is the answer to all your woes and having children is what life’s all about, none of them show the hardships in family life and what sacrifices have to be made, if it is, it is usually glossed over. All these movies tell you to just party and how buying things will make everything better, whether they’re shoes, a car or a house the message is the same- consume.

Which leads me to the enormous amount of advertising that is designed in a way that makes you crave this crap but also it make you feel ashamed or guilty for not having it. The adverts place such an importance on the products, which you end up feeling like you can’t function without them.  And it’s now as if you can get away from them, they’re everywhere; on TV between your favourite shows sometimes they even pop up during your shows!! They are even on the channels that are meant to be dedicated to news, they are also junk mail that you receive on a daily basis in your e-mail and your post, and there are billboards and also adverts on the sides of product that you have already purchased! All this is designed to empty your wallet and make some “ fat cats” very wealthy indeed!

One would think that with the economy the way it is that people would be smart with what little money that they have, yet with all this oversimplification of the world around them, people are starting to lose the ability to identify and ignore these cheap ploys used by the marketing world designed to make a small percentage of society very rich while the rest of us are living in the gutters.  People should start to question more things around them or they’ll risk having everything done for them by the major corporations, and we all know who they really look out for….let me tell you, it’s not the well being of the people!!!

Special relationship

This so called "special relationship" between the UK and the USA is enough to make you vomit.. When will the UK accept that the age of empire is over and stop trying to make a global role for themselves, but instead why don't they just try and make a positive impact for the people who have to live in the UK because they can't afford to leave!!

Review of The Lone Ranger

I just had to watch this after hearing how so called critics had judged this as a flop, I just knew there was something decent here. And I was right, it had humour in the right places, which is hard to do when dealing with such a sensitive subject- the genocide of the Native Americans. It showed them as the duplicitous people that they were ( and arguably, still are) Tonto was wonderfully acted by Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer as the legendary Lone Ranger was a good choice as he portrayed a somewhat naive man of the law. The horse was hilarious as at times it seemed to act like a person. Kudos to the animal handler!
People who don't like this because it forces us to look in the mirror, and most people simply don't like that. they want to bury their heads in the sand. And maybe, just maybe people are still greedy and corrupt sods and don't want that small fact pointed out!

5 out of 5!

Same old, same old..

The same rumours have arisen again but just because they are the same doesn't mean they hurt less, they hurt more! I can't remember a transfer window going by without hearing Claudio Marchisio and Man United linked in some way or another, and now Arsenal have thrown their hat in the ring. I can't take it anymore! But what's different this time is that it may be tempting, seeing as though both these clubs are in the Champions League. I just hope he makes the right decision, I doubt he'll be first choice at either one and also he has been tauted  as thee next captain at Juventus, will he have the same chance at the EPL?? That's if the league doesn't decide to break him first, because lets face it, it is rather brutish.

Another rumour is a swap deal- Mirku Vucinic for Nani of Manchester United. I'm not too sure about this one, I admit Vucinic can be a little moody at times but he still has skill and height! At the moment Fernando Llorente is doing well, but it would be wise to have a back- up. But Antonio Conte is a smart man and knows what he's doing. I recently read this ridiculous rumour that Paul Pogba might leave to go to PSG for 40 million euro's, now if that's true then he definately shouldn't get  of Marchisio!

Anything came happen in the world of calcio, no one expected ( even Conte!) them to get rid of Emmanuele Giaccherini but they did, even after he put in a terrific display in the Confederation Cup. That particular deal hits with great sadness but has left me rather confused as to who to trust.

The Great Deflection

Turning a blind eye.
People in this country are guilty of just looking the other way or sticking their heads in the sand. Some people believe that the situation in Europe will never come here, but what they don’t understand is that it already is, just under a different name and in subtle forms. The fact that the budget for the public sector has been gutted and anything decent is privatised how is that any better than what’s going on in Europe?? The only difference is that people are outraged and protesting in the streets, there is solidarity in Europe. There is nothing like that here, Thatcher and all the PMs following her made sure of that, they made sure that people will fight among each other instead of placing the blame where it truly lies; The “ finance hub” City of London. The focus of the Government has become increasingly focused and driven by the financial sector. And what is it when a Government is more focused on profits that the people..FASICSM!! But there are people out there that still refuse to believe that is what’s happening, they believe we destroyed it in 1945, but what they don’t realise it’s just called something else- Corporatism. This is just as deadly as the Fascism that everyone remembers under Hitler, but what people don’t understand is that was Nazism and had a huge element of racism in it.

Which is an awful lot like we have here, The EDL, BNP. The Tories!! What do you think they are doing right now??? The EDL stands for the English defence League, I have a couple of questions ; why and how are they defending England, and what is it that officially makes you English?? From what I have gathered from my 30 years is that all English can only socialise while drinking, which I just think is sad, also they get obsessed with trivial issues and ignore anything that requires higher brain function. So in the end they are defending being “shitfaced” all the time and downright stupid. The more the Government decides to cut, the more angry and violent people will get and because education in essence has been privatised, that usually means blame will be assigned to the wrong people and the EDL just proves it.

Also the Tories Government with all its wisdom has led people to blame immigrants and essentially anyone who isn’t white and does speak with a foreign accent. They have started to promote this idea that people on benefits and immigrants are the reasons why the country is in a recession or rather a depression. Forgetting the simple fact that they not only let but actively encouraged the bankers to commit huge amounts of financial fraud and actively prey on the weak and desperate for years! This had nothing to do with it!!!! But like I said at the start, people have been brainwashed into blaming each other, instead of taking a closer look at the policy makers. Europe may have its problems but at least they’re not blind to the monumental injustice that is going on and will keep going on unless the people unite and resist the corporatisation of the world.

The art of defending...

Just like any art, it takes time to get right and it requires patience and intelligence- which some people sorely
lack! Football is a game that is about attacking the opponent and out thinking them but also knowing when to sure up the backline and holding on, to some people it may seem boring ( fans of the EPL!) yet it is a vital part of the game. Just imagine if you were only good at one aspect of your job, you would find yourself getting replaced pretty soon, this is also true with football.

What people have to keep in mind is that the game is 90 minutes long and you have to pace yourself, if you're running like headless chickens for all that time, you'll find yourself out of breath rather quickly! I often hear people say, " if you have a good attacking force you don't have to worry about the defence", what then happens when your so called best players are injured or suspended and you don't have a good defence because you didn't think it was important? You end up losing the game.

Above everything some people may think, football is not just about scoring as many goals as you can, the game involve a lot of strategy like when to go forward and when to stay back and also seeing if you can exploit any weaknesses, it's a lot like chess- maybe that's a little to complicated for some people! I just have to think back to the Juve game against Fiorentina where the were up by 2 goals at half time but ended up losing by 4 goals. To some this may be a great game because there were plenty of goals, but what I see is a lot sadder, what I see is a lazy defense. But the good thing about this was that it was the slap in the face Juve needed to get back on track and currently they have had a string of clean sheets.

Another great attack that often gets mentioned is Barcelona FC. I have to admit, they are a phenomenon to watch- but with Messi, without him they've struggled.

In the EPL there are many examples of bad defending, the Arsenal- Man City game which ended 6-3 to Man City just made me question how bad Arsenal must be at defending, to concede 6 goals is just poor play. If they had focused more time on the basics they probably could have avoided that scoreline.

People who think that was a great game have no patience and just want instant gratification, well maybe those people should watch basketball instead!

All of this has happened before, and all will happen again pt 2

Italian Credibility.

Milan, Italy’s last hope…
… Not to put too much pressure on them but it’s true; they are now the sole Italian club in the Champions League and thus have become an ambassador of Serie A. For many people the Champions League is the only opportunity they get to sample different leagues and they don’t often get to see what they can do, but instead they only see them play in this one competition and assume the whole league is like this.

People who do only get to see Serie A in the Champions League may assume it’s a weak league, but that would be a mistake to assume such things because they may just be having an “off” day. Just take Juventus as an example, they have been eliminated, but what the average spectator won’t take into account is that this is just their second appearance in the completion after some very hard times, and I do admit that after surprising everyone last season and reaching the quarter finals, crashing out in the group stages is a blow. Yet I take into account the fact that the game had been postponed because of heavy snow, so that sort of disruption can do a lot to throw you off your game, also the abysmal state of the playing surface didn’t help. Having said that, they shouldn’t have left qualification till the last game.
In a group that had Copenhagen, Real Madrid and Galatassary, they were looking favourites to come in second behind Real Madrid, but that’s just it… They believed it was a done deal and they only had to worry about the Spanish side, and it was that arrogance that saw them leave early. What every fan should really be concerned about is that they could only manage a draw with the Danish side.  It as if they were coasting on past success and it only took the 4-2 defeat against Fiorentina in Serie A for them to realise that it wasn’t going to be easy. It was unfortunate that that defeat happened after the Copenhagen games, or who knows they may have actually worked harder to win it?
Now Juve will hopefully pay more attention in the Europa League as the final is in The Juventus Stadium there will be an expectation for them to be there.
Napoli, on the other hand won their game against Arsenal but were still knocked out of the competition. Their squad was not as big and full of quality at the Juve one and one could maybe excuse their exit, but they went down fighting, that’s the kind of attitude I had grown accustomed from Juve, but not this time.

There is still the club from Milan that is doing poorly in the domestic league but seems to be thriving in the Champions League, so people shouldn’t draw conclusions about Serie A because it’s a different beast entirely.

Delusional Britain?

We're closer to Europe than the States, but why do we want to be like a nation that has already kicked us out? Or has everyone forgotten about the American Revolution?!

A role to follow.. Really?

Another rather disturbing trend I've noticed about this country is how much they try to imitate the States. It' none thing to have an admiration for their ways ( although, I have no idea why you would admire that!) but to copy everything they do is just sad and shows an alarming lack of creativity. Just take a look at TV shows, they have all taking on the American format of cut throat competition and fake drama. And they are more shows that have either a segment where they are just talking to the camera about what has just happened, how stupid do they think we are that we need them to explain what has just happened?!! They are also more and more judging shows, and what really makes me mad is that most of the judges are not even qualified to judge- they're crap themselves! All it promotes is a culture of bulling, just take a look across the pond, do you really wank children to have that much anxiety and hatred in them?

To further see how we are becoming more like the States just look at our schools, in my day we didn't have Proms, and I'm so glad we didn't, what a waste of time! Next thing you know we're going to have cheer-leading- can you just imagine how absurd that would be? Some time ago there was an interruption during a major sporting event when a man proposed to his girlfriend but instead of being greeted by applause he was treated to booing and jeers because he interrupted the game that they paid money to see, and why wouldn't they be annoyed, everything shouldn't be a spectacle. In the States they invest so much time in trivial things like sports and appearance, and did you know they invented cheer-leading? What do you expect, they would do anything to distract the people.

Holidays are another thing, now I'm not a grinch and I do believe that certain events should be celebrated, but not like this. The huge explosion of crap that you are sold is unbelievable and the frenzy that comes with it is unnecessary, just take " Black Friday" where people are actually killed so that they can get a discount on a TV they don't even need! Even that has come over here and we don't even celebrate Thanksgiving, and some people have even been injured. I will never understand why anyone will wait for hours or even days outside a shop, so that they can get 30% of something they don't even need, when there are too many queues inside the store, I don't bother, because nothing is worth standing in line for hours, when you could be with family or friends, isn't that the real meaning of the holidays?

Delusional aspirations

Teeny tiny island …..
That has grand delusions. Have you ever looked at the UK on a globe? We are a tiny island but with the amount of debt and the way the politicians talk about it, one would believe we are a grand empire. I guess that’s kind of the problem, Britain still believes it’s an empire, they are certainly spending money as if they are! Why can’t they just accept that the old days of doing things are done and just think about their people instead of trying to seem like a “big shot” and ignoring the plight of the people? How about making sure your people have somewhere to live, food to feed their families and can read! If they focused more on these things that what other people think than maybe they would be adored and not hated by the majority of the population.
They are so focused on being noticed that they have neglected the people, and why is that I hear you ask? It’s rather simple, they look to the States and they think that is progress. I believe ( and I might be alone in this) you shouldn’t encourage mass fraud on your population and that you shouldn’t be evicting people out of their homes and kicking them to the kerb. Over half the population shouldn’t be below the poverty line and scavenging for food, while the few people of privilege have too much food and waste most of.  This is not progress in my mind, far from it, this is a former empire in decline and the fact that most Brits don’t see it, saddens me.

What is so wrong with doing something on a small sale but doing it well? The Anglo-Saxon mentality can just think of a couple of things and that is to expand and consume, isn’t that how we got into this mess to begin with, the banks were allowed to get larger and larger and no one was paying attention till it went so terrible wrong. Also people and businesses got used to getting cheap credit that they forgot that one day, someone has to pay the bill. Now I expect a certain amount of “stupidness” from the private individual- seeing as though most of them quit school at 16! But for the all powerful Government to make the same mistake, now that’s just depressing!

Always resist...

Ballon D'or 2013

This award is supposed to go to the player who has had the best performance of the last year, not the last five minutes! If they give this award to Ronaldo it will be just that, don't get me wrong, he's a great player ( but a bigger ass hole!) but what has he really achieve last year, I mean where was he for the big games? It's not as if he won La Liga , The Champions League or win Euro 2012- if I remember correctly he didn't even get to take a penalty against Spain.

On the other hand Ribery was vital in the Champions League and helped Bayern Munich win it and also the League and he has also helped France qualify for the Word Cup. We all know why Ronaldo really wants this. it's because Messi won it more than once and he's jealous, well, in my humble opinion I don't really think Messi deserves it this year.

I don't claim to be as wise as " the powers that be", all I'm saying is that if they decide such awards on the basis of who has is the " hot property" of the last week- they might as well hand them out every week because they will become meaningless. By the way has everyone forgotten about Andrea Pirlo?!! A lifetime achievement award perhaps.

Such beauty....

The forgotten past

Everyone wants to be remembered and everyone searches for some kind of meaning to their existence, and a large part of that meaning come from what  you have done in the past- your history. That is why I feel that  UNESCO World Heritage is an important organisation to be a part of. This program  is basically a catalog of sites that are considered to be of cultural or natural importance to humanity, which could by the UK  has only 28 and the USA only 21.

The country with the most UNESCO world heritage sites is not surprising, it's Italy with a whopping 49 sites. China has 45, Spain 44, France and Germany have 38. It is important to preserve the past, that is how we learn from our mistakes after all. Now it comes as no surprise that the UK has so little, it just goes to show where their priorities lie! They don't care beauty, knowledge or culture unless you can make a lot of money from it straight away. What legacy are we leaving behind for the future?? A whole bunch of debt!

UNESCO is all about the about preserving such things like forest, mountains, lakes, islands, deserts, monuments, buildings and even whole cities like the city of Verona in Italy or Venice that is also in Italy for the common heritage of humanity. You may be wondering why things like mountains or forests are on this list, they are at threat from corporations who would want to blow the tops of mountains to get to the minerals, and the very real threat of deforestation.

Some people are just so short sighted and selfish that all they think about is how much money they can make in their lifetime, they don't spare a thought for future generations- that's why we should be grateful to UNESCO for helping to preserve what really matters.

Conditioned to forget..

It troubles me deeply when  I look back at this year that is now coming to a close. Isn't that what usually happens around this time, people take the time to reflect? But what kinds of things will people remember? There's no doubt that people will recall the devastation in the Philippines, after all, that has just happened and is still in the media, but do people remember the hundreds that died in Bangladesh when the factory collapsed due to the fact they have no health and safety because that might mean that the dress you got from Primark might cost a pound more?!! Or perhaps the earthquake in Pakistan that killed over 500 souls? How about the fact that after 10 years, Iraq and Afghanistan are just hellish if not more before the so called democracy that was supposed to arrive.

Does anyone pay attention to what's happening to their food- GMO's anyone? It isn't going to benefit anyone but the big corporations, no matter what BS they are chucking around it's not going to solve world hunger!! Do you really want to be like the States where having bloody diarrhea and anal leakage is a common occurrence??  How about the whole spying thing? I brought up this issue in a conversation with a friend and her reply was that of a person who doesn't care, and that is disturbing. People have become so distracted by things like the x factor or the royal baby that they are completely blind to what's going on, and what's going on is that this society is closing because we have stopped paying attention.

Just earlier this year the whole Frakking "debate came up, well, it wasn't really a debate as the companies just brushed aside the protesters and did it anyway. The UK is going in the wrong direction, instead of listening to the concerns of the people who " elected" them into their plush offices, they would rather listen to the money hungry corporations. A lot like the States, what this shit hole of a country should do is is try and use some common sense, I know that maybe difficult but I'm begging you, try! Across the pond you have some of the most unhealthiest and some of the poorest people in the western world, that is not progress, what that is is a society regressing!

Also I hear a lot of Euro bashing and I got to say I don't like it! When I see them protesting or striking, you know what I see... Intelligence, because those people know the injustice of bailing out the banks while letting the people suffer. Europe is still full of so much beauty and culture that is worth fighting for, what culture is there her??? Being a drunk and pissing in the street.

This country has its priorities all wrong and that is what happens when you allow big money into politics? People have to realize how far from "democracy" that is.

Who are real slackers, the people who will risk everything to see that people know the truth like Mr Snowden and the people protesting all across Europe or you, the people who are just oblivious to the fact that you are modern day slaves??

How can people still not see what's happening?!

Fino alla Fine Forza Juve

I have been following my beloved Juventus for nearly half my life so I've seen them at their best and worse, what's troubling is that from all reports I could find, they seem to be playing great football yet they are rooted to the bottom of their Champion League group. I watch every Serie A game that comes on TV and have done so for years, so I know how great they can be, but not everyone watches Serie A like me so the Champions Leagues is all they see of Italian football.

After last season when they went further then expected, I was hoping they would be able to go further this year without giving me a panic attack! But it is starting to look like their fate may not be up to them and they made need a bit of good fortune regarding the other teams. From watching them in Serie A, I know they can achieve whatever they set their minds to, but not everyone will think that. There are some people ( who will remain anonymous) believe that Italian football is boring and slow and that it is heavily focused on tactics- well, coming from a fan of the EPL that doesn't really surprise me! All they focus on is pace, which is fine
, don't get me wrong, but you also have to know how to use that pace to the best advantage, there's no point being really fast with the ball and then not knowing what to do while you have it.

Antonio Conte has made sure that his team has speed but also tactical knowledge, they just need that little bit of luck. Do Italian football proud and show them how it's done! I mean you've won two back to back titles which is no easy feat, so I believe you can hold your own in Europe!

Slave nation?

How have we actually improved?
Just think about it for one moment, we’re unhealthy –in more ways than one!, the gap between the rich and poor are increasing by the second, unemployment seems to only be heading in one direction, and that’s up, the i.q of the population looks to be freefalling  and there is a lot more anger out there, usually directed at anyone who is different. Whether we want to admit it or not we’re living in a “slave society”.

What I mean by this is quite simple; we live only to work and what we get in return for our work is barely enough to live on. Why have we let it get so bad?  People here are guilty of one major thing… arrogance. They believe that’s what’s happening in the rest of Europe can never happen here, what, because this is such a great country! Give me a break!! The city if London is the heartland of most of the corruption.
People are still naïve enough to believe that  this is a democracy. I mean really!! Did the people want the bank to gamble away all our savings and did the people want to give the banks a bailout which they then used to pay themselves huge bonuses? Do the people want to pay extortionate prices for the energy required to heat up their home and when did they ask to pay triple towards student fees? Now why would a democratically elected government still do all this even when the people protest against it, it’s simple really, they are more concerned with the big businesses and bank than they are for you.  And in my humble opinion all of these shouldn’t be dealt like a business, we can’t survive without heating and gas, they’re vital to our way of life and shouldn’t be treated as a business, because let’s face it a business has one objective and that is to make a profit, they don’t give a dam about the people. Also what kind of Government would make it so difficult to have access to higher education?

This is starting to sound an awful lot like fascism to me, a corporation by its very nature is totalitarian, power is top-down and the people below have to just do what they’re told. Is this what we want? Workers have already lost their pension due to the banksters, and many of the benefits have slowly been eroded away, and through the destruction of trade unions, the ir voices have been silenced. Why is all this happening? It’s quite simple really- corporation have infected each area and all they care about is making a profit and reducing the costs and if they have to cut a few hundred jobs or cut back on health and safety, they will. The rate that wages are heading it soon will be slavery pure and simple, they’ll obviously call it something less offensive but that is where we are headed… soon we’ll be the third world.

A country cannot be run like a business, the decision they make affect lives, not mere numbers on a computer screen that you can just erase without a seconds hesitation.

Llorente to Arsenal?

It seem as an awful lot like Arsene Wenger has just realised the benefits of spending a little cash. He was forced to spend some cash as Arsenal had started to become somewhat of a joke, always being the "nearly club". People claimed the played attractive football yet I failed to see it, being able to pass the ball is a general requirement of the game and shouldn't be such a surprise when a team does this. But what I do find hilarious is when the English commentator ( usually from itv) start comparing them to Barcelona!! Just the sheer arrogance of the English commentary is infuriating, and then they act all shocked when the team doesn't live up to all this hype.
Anyway, back to my main point. Mr Wenger has finally loosened the purse strings and surprise surprise that has yielded some results, but this rumour that he has his eyes fixed on Fernando is enraging. Juventus got him on a Bosman from Athletic Bilbao after his contract run out and he didn't renew, Juve were the team that believed in Llorente eventhough he hadn't played for about six months due to some club dispute. Eventhough they knew he would be rusty, they believed that he could do well in Turin. And now that he is doing well after a rocky start, Arsenal are looking at him- the cheek! But thankfully there has been a club statement firmly stating that he is not for sale, hopefully that will put the Frenchmen in his place, after all he has his own giant in Olivier Giroud, maybe he should have some faith in his own players instead of trying to steal others!

Turin 2013

What can be said about such a beautiful and diverse place? Only that I miss it so much that every moment away from it is slowly destroying my soul. When I was there I was surrounded by art and culture and not to mention NATURE! Simple thing like street lamps are obviously made with care and have an athestic beauty that you don't get here because it is not this country's priority to make something that EVERYONE might enjoy!

Torino has an abundance of palaces, but unlike here where they are open only to the privledged few everyone, old and younge alike were enjoying these jewels that were now owned by the city and not private individuals- that might change now due to the massive amount of fraud committed by the banksters! The fact that I am a huge Juventus supporter is also why I had to visit here, and if I left without paying pilgrimige to the stadium... well that would be blasphemy! The stadium was magnificent, not too big just big enough and the design of it was sheer class. The museum was a gem that no true fan/supporter should miss. As this was my 2nd visit to my spiritual home, I did notice one disturbing fact. Like I said before; I adore nature and on the way there I had noticed how there was an ever decreasing amount of snow on the Alps. Global warming perhaps? Well even the idiots over here have to agree that somthing is terrible wrong here, or are you prepared for an increasing amount of storms. Ignore the warning signs at your peril!

The 51st state?

Artificial world The title of this piece is not too far off from reality, just look around you people value things like “Farmville” more than farming. One will perhaps keep you entertained for a few hours but the other will feed you so that you won’t die! And this whole hoopla about “social media”, which is not socializing for one thing you’re not talking to people you are typing on your computer, it could not be more anti social if it tried, for one thing it removes the need to see people, which if I’m not mistaken.. is socializing! It’s closer to snooping on each other than anything else, and the CEO Mark poopyhead is making sure that it is becoming less and less of a private medium between friends and making sure that any “peodo” can find you.

Why is it that people place so much value on the virtual more than the reality? It’s not as though it stops at this, in education there is more emphasis on computing and finance than there is on things like engineering and actually learning skills. Kids are being brainwashed into believing that being in finance or becoming the CEO of a business is a thing to aspire to, maybe someone should tell them how they actually accumulated all that wealth! They did it by screwing people over and exploiting every opportunity to their benefit, if this is the kind of life you want where everyone is out for themselves and having just an ounce of compassion is considered a weakness, then maybe you should move to the States where ass holes like that are worshipped!

The scary thing is, this country is becoming increasingly similar to the States. Already the entertainment sector has become more concerned with the trivial and the content has been boiled down to its simplest form, and not just the entertainment but the news also. The news is meant to inform you and educate you about the goings on around the world, it is not a source of entertainment and shouldn’t be more concerned with having the latest gadget and other gimmicks! The education system is also becoming more like the US, funding is being cut and fees for higher education are shooting though the roof, it’s as though they don’t want the population to have access to education..ummm. and just like the States there is more of an emphasis on frivolous things like Prom, Valentine’s day, Christmas parties and sports and less on thing that really matter like: the sciences, mathematics, philosophy and history. The latest news to come out of education circle is that the children are “less than average”- and that’s putting it lightly! Is it such a shock when the policy makers are looking to the US for inspiration?!

This government is not satisfied with making sure that we don’t think but they have also made sure that many of us won’t be able to move, with a fast food place on every corner and at least 3 on the high street! And does anyone even stop they consider why these fast food chains just happen to be in low income area?! It is so they can exploit your situation for profit, because the “food” they serve is not exactly of any nutritional benefit, most of it probably isn’t meant to be consumed by humans! And only having access to that junk is not exactly healthy and can only be a burden on the NHS, which they are also cutting funding to and it wouldn’t even surprise me if we have to start paying for it! then the transformation will be complete, we’ll become a nation of celebrity obsessed, obese, poverty stricken idiots- we’re almost there!! So, instead of investing in things that matter like health and education, the give more money to the Banksters so that they can continue committing fraud, but of course when the banks do it it’s not called fraud its legal. Someone has to have the courage to tell the people in charge that you can’t run a country like a business; you’re dealing with people’s lives. A mark of a truly developed society should be about the treatment of the people not the corporations.

Indentured servitude..

Insanity
When one thinks of this word the image of a person who is not in their right mind pops into their heads, one would assume. I believe this entire country has fallen prey to insanity, to roughly put into words; insanity is when someone does the same thing over and over again expecting a different and better outcome.

The whole “ help to buy” scheme pops into my mind. Has everyone just conveniently forgotten that the financial crisis came about in part because of the housing bubble and the subsequent “popping” of that bubble? And how do you think that happened?? Because people were pushed into taking out a mortgage on a house, knowing full well they will not be able to pay it back! All this scheme is doing is creating an equal if not larger bubble that will inevitably lead to a greater crash.
The Prime Minister may just be a giant turd in a suit, but he does understand the mindset of the people, and who wouldn’t they are such simple creatures after all.

This country is so committed to getting into the housing market… but why?? The house will never be enjoyed by you because you will be working your entire lives and that of future generation trying to pay it off, so why not just rent?
The answer is simple, the policies of this country are only in favor of people who own property and they brainwash you from a young age to want to own a house. There also is no incentive or protection for those who want to rent instead of buying a property and having to live out the rest of their lives in debt to the banksters! Just an example if your land lord wants to kick you out, they can do so whenever they please and if they want to be subtle about kicking you out all they have to do is raise the rent so high that you’ll have to leave!
Why in the world would a government want its people to live in such hardship? It’s rather simple actually, they care more about the banks and lining their pocket with all that money than you! Now what does that remind me of, the fact that the policies are more directed to profit than the welfare of the people?... oh yeah FASCISM!

The only person the scheme is likely to help is the PM himself, because people have the collective memory of a goldfish all they will remember is that his initiative helped them get a house not knowing that it doesn’t really belong to you! This is bribery pure and simple another scheme to keep him in power and fracking the people for another 5 years.  all this has done has inflated the prices so high to make sure they will never go down to a reasonable price!!

Like I said before, all he is really helping is the emerging Aristocrats- the BANKSTERS!

What's wrong here?

When I was in school (a long time ago!) when I thought about the future I saw clean streets, efficient and affordable public transport for all( and maybe flying cars!) and people enjoying a healthier and happy lives, and I can say with that when I look at the world today I am utterly disgusted! The amount of litter on the streets is appalling and it goes to show where the true priorities of this country lie, because most of the garbage you see on the streets belongs to that of multimillion dollar fast food chains and the local copy cats. What people refuse to get into their heads is that these fast food places are all about exploiting you, and that also is the way private businesses and the government do, all they do is prey on your weaknesses and try and turn it into a profit for them.
Has anyone ever noticed that the worse off a neighborhood is, the more fast food places there are?  The population would have to be incredibly stupid to believe that this food is actually good for them, but the sad fact is that many people don’t put that much priority on their health, and why I hear you ask?  Stupidity is a major component but also people believe they don’t have enough time or money. The fact that they don’t have enough time is a sheer lie because it doesn’t take much time to make a healthier choice, and also for the work that people are actually doing, you don’t need that much food.
People who complain that they don’t have enough money to eat healthier should understand that the cost of something like cancer is a whole lot more! The main reason why they don’t have money for good quality food is simply because they believe having the latest iphone or outfits are more important. I strongly disagree with this, people should understand that the cost of having last year clothes is nothing compare to ingesting that crap everyday!
An intelligent individual would understand that, but the average individual is not intelligent and the main cause of that is the media. The media has to at least take part of the blame for the negative trend when it comes to the intellectual pool of our society. The media does its upmost best to promote movies and TV programmes that have poor dialogue, an even worst script and is purely there to distract you from your meaningless consumer driven lives, whereas before you were an active participant and you were always made to think about difficult and often controversial issues, now you’re just a passive observer and told to but as much movie merchandise as possible.
This is not just a problem in the entertainment medium but also the news, one would think that the news is purely around to inform you about all the major issues around the world, not anymore! Now they have gotten it into their heads that they have to be entertaining and they purposefully simplify complex issues because they  have realized that the new target audience will not understand anything other than sound bites, and the main reason why the population has ended up this way is because they have been constantly exposed to this form of media, it is a vicious cycle that will lead to an increasingly dumb society.
It makes one wonder that would benefit from having a society full of idiots? The first thing that pops into my mind is the Government.  The average Joe might not believe that the people they elected to serve the people would intestinally want to keep the public ignorant and oblivious when it comes to the running of the country, but if they have no real resistance from the public they can get away with anything they want to, for example they can rob the people and make them feel like they deserved it and that it was inevitable!  Just one of many examples.

I implore you all to question more and stop blindly accepting the fact that the rich deserve to rich and you deserve to live in the gutter. The rich are just greedy ba**rds that have become so adept at committing fraud it has become second nature.
