Milan v Roma.. WHOOPS..

... There is no denying they had the chances, but I guess Borriello's desire to stick it to Milan was greater, as it was the Milan owned player who made his former side alittle embarrassed. One coul say that the Rosseneri were guilty of being comfortable at the top, with a six point lead, but if Juventus or Lazio win their games- the title race might have gone a little tighter, and Milan will have a lot to do after the Christmas break.

In the early stages of the game it was all Milan, they were clearly on a high, unbeaten in eight games. Roma had no real threat as they only had 2 shots on goal and 10 shot overall, while Milan had fifteen shots with four on goal. Having said that, it was Roma who had the first opportunity. It came from a loose ball by Ignazio Abate and was quickly pounced on by Jeremy Menez, the Frenchman was the creative spark in Roma had he had an uncanny ability to unlock defences.

In response to this Zlatan had an opportunity to restore calm, he finally beat the offside trap, however he failed to adequately control the ball and it got slightly caught up in his feet and his attempt to lob it over Roma keeper Doni was easily anticipated.

Milan's' creative spark Andrea Pirlo failed to play the entire match when he hobble of injured in the twenty second minute. A cynical person would sat that he was targeted. As the creative lynch pin that he is, it would be a serious blow to the Rossoneri. The age old problem with Milan is the age, and they have seemed to replace the attacking force with some much needed youth, the midfield is sorely lacking, with Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf and Ambrosin looking rather tired and the latter looked shattered by the end of the game.

The front three were painfully close to scoring a goal but were more often than none caught offside. This problem stems from the midfield, the Milan attack was seen getting the ball from the middle of the park to slow to put an attack, and because the delivery was slow, it allowed the Roma back line to get into position and set the offside trap. This proved to be working with great success as Milan were caught offside a massive twelve times!

Yet more punishment was to come for Milan and they were down in the 68th minute as Marco Borriello fumbled the ball in the back of the net. The Rosseneri were shell shocked and it showed, as they were getting noticeably more frustrated. But it ended with a win for The Roman club and Ranieri proved that even without Totti, they can still have a party!!
