Chievo v Juventus... Missed opportunity?

One could argue that the late slip was simply tiredness creeping in after Thursdays' game against Man City. Seeing as the game started off brightly for Juve, where they had control over most of the game, I doubt it. What I can't seem to understand was why Del Neri took off Krasic near the end, that was surely a mistake, unless he was injured, Del Neri should have left him on and taken off Iaquinta, because let's be honest.. who runs the most for the team? What is an almost certainty, is that this was the perfect chance to put pressure on Milan after they slipped up against Roma. But to be fair to Juve, they were miss Del Piero and Claudio Marchisio, But could that really have changed the result?

Half of Juve's backline is on a caution with both Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci getting yellows. Chiellini was superb in this game pulling of vital interception, helping to make sure that they didn't go down to yet another draw. Yet a draw was in the written in the stars fot The Ol Lady, when deep into stoppage they let in an equalizer by Sergio Pellisier. Yet you did get the feel that it was coming, and the sending off for the young Manuel Giandonato in the 52nd minute didn't help their cause, however some credit does go to them, seeing as though they held off a Chievo goal until the 93rd minute.

Iaquinta had a chance to double the lead and ease the pressure and give Juve some breathing room, Milos Krasic had done most of the hard work, bombing it forward with that amazing pace that he has and crossed it to Iaquinta, only to see it go straight at the keeper. Later than Krasic decide to go on his own, only to miss an open goal- but to be fair to him he did do a lot of running and there was no support in sight.

Pellisier was threatning all afternoon, so it was no surprise that he got the equalizer. In the end, Chievo deserved the draw but Juve will be ruing the chance to close the gap and maybe they should go into the Christmas break and remember never to let your guard down because that is what they did today, and they were duly punished.
