This whole obsession with what footballer players wear has taken a bizarre twist, and not to mention how insignificant it is. First English commentators were making a big deal about players who wear gloves, but now this!! Their argument is that, in their day men were men and they would just play, now tell me one thing.... how does admitting that your cold in -0 temperatures make you less of a man?? Would it be smarter not to wear gloves and the snood and get the flu, which will the mean that you'll be out for the next few weeks??
Many of the footballers are from hot climates, so the sudden onset of cold weather is new to them. Also remember back in the day, " the men" didn't even wear shin guards, and there were so many broken bones. The English media just like to point fun at anything new but in Europe they have always been seen wearing protection against the cold, it's just the British who would rather suffer!!
