The curse of the talisman...

A talisman is viewed as a player that commands great respect, authority and has been loyal to the club. One hopes he has the maturity and the ability not to take things too personally- like Francesco Totti. He is a player that is synonymous with Roma and as one fan made clear at the match against Inter, " No Totti, No party". Well the fans have the right to believe that, in their eyes he can do no wrong. But for Totti to go off in a huff when he gets substituted is not sending the right message and it paints him as being very egotistical and a bit of a child and the fact that Vucinic scored after he left might well tell you something- that even when Totti leaves the pitch, the world carries on! His tantrums and outburst are not the qualities a leader should possess. He should have enough humility to except that there are and this may be asking a lot... but there are players out there that can do things that he can no longer do. He should embody a calm persona and not the one that he currently has which is of a spoilt child.

And the worrying thing is that Roma is not the only club that is suffering from this, and it pains me to say this but Alex Del Piero is starting to be a liability. He hasn't had the very public outbursts that Totti has but he should also understand that he is 35 now and he is not as fast as he once was. And the fans shouldn't expect him to start every match, he still has magical touches and divine footwork but they come in short bursts and I fear that he actually slows the attack and hinders the game at times because he doesn't have the strength to take on players like he once could. The problem with both these team is that these players have become bigger than the club. I know who would think! Not only that but opponents find it easier to play against them, there's a reason both Roma and Juve won without them.

Buffon trying everything.....

Deja Vu' for The Old Lady..

Ahh how things have turned so wrong so fast for the Old Lady, not long ago they were rejoicing at their win against Udinese and every Juve fan was hoping that was the spark that Juve needed to get there campaign of to a good start.. but alas they have just papered over the crack and underlining problem and Palermo was able to use this to their advantage hence winning by three goals.
Unless Juve do something to improve they defend they will not improve and I fear they will be out of Europe and God forbid but they might even be out of Serie A! I have notice a few times when it come to defending they often cluster in the same area, Chiellini is now the " senior" player is this position and he should do a better job in commanding the line and have faith that his teammate will do their job.
Another problem that has not gone away and I hate to say I told you so.. But I told you that the lack of familiarity will be a huge obstacle. Players were often seen bumping into each other and players were often caught out of position.. and this is largely due to lack of playing time with the same group of player and the fiddling around with the formation and least we forget the flurry of late signings.
After hearing about there victory against Udinese, I was hoping to get an entertaining match but ultimately one that Juventus would win. It was agonising to say the least, so many near misses and wasted chances that should have turned the game. But I have faith that it will get better but I do hope they do something about their defence. Last but not least.. I fear Juve are suffering from what I like to say the talisman disorder, where a player becomes larger that the club like Totti at Roma you've got Del Piero. Don't get me wronge I love the guy but how much longer can he last and for the team captain he is fairly quiet, he doesn't have the same presence that Gigi Buffon comands....ahh how I miss thee- Come back soon Juve need you!!!

FORZA JUVENTUS!!!

HURTS - Illuminated (Live Version)

Review of Kick- Ass

A hugely entertaining film that draws on society and how they would rather sit back and watch the world go to hell rather than do something to help. It's funny especially when Kick- Ass takes on his first assignment to rescue the cat and actually helps stop a mugging but off course he also get battered because he has no training or skills, but he has the determination to do this, which is inspiring but obviously s this day and age to do anything you need a continuous supply of money.

Hit Girl was fantastic and I know everyone will feel disturbed because she's only eleven year old, but you know what I say to that SO WHAT! People are okay with children being all sexed up at that age and getting knocked up but when she turns violent then that's crossing the line. I found her to be a refreshing change to all the sluts I see.
Also the thing that bothers me the most is how everyone aspires to be famous and nothing else, Hit Girl And Big Daddy do it for revenge pure an simple.
Also another thing that is made blaringly obvious is the blatant consumerism. He has only been aroung for 1 day but there's already Kick- Ass t- shits and mugs etc, it just makes me sick how everything is turned into another way to make money!

The Internet is the main protagonist, it's how Kick- Ass shot to fame, with everyone with their camera phones filming everything and putting it on the Internet for everyone to see. Not to give anything away but Nick Cage's Batman type outfit was cool, all in all a breath of fresh air and it gets 4 out of 5 starts- rent this now!

Disaster for Serie A?

So far Roma and AC Milan record losses while Inter regain there winning attitude. The most shocking result had to be Milan's loss against newly promoted Cesena, losing by two goals!! This just goes to show that just because you have the big names and bigger wallet doesn't mean you have the better team. The Rossoneri were guilty of underestimating their opponent, which is quite stupid on their part. They should have realised after they produce that shock draw against Roma in the opening week that lowly Cesena may be more than meets the eye.

Zlatan didn't really make the splash debut that everyone was expecting, too much was made about his return to Italy and the acquisition of Robinho, this game was billed as being the unveiling of the player and they simply forgot to play football!!!

Roma, what can I say... I was actually hoping they would be the side that could loosen Inters' grip on the League but they were pummelled by FIVE goals against a feisty Cagliari. But maybe all this is a good thing for the League and Italian football in general. The fact that you cannot predict the outcome of a game is what I think makes it more exciting. And is about time that the team that are considered to be the powerhouses like Milan, Inter, Juventus and Roma are given a real run for their money and the top spots are no longer guaranteed to these teams- let's just hope that Inter get the humiliation they need and that Milan and Zlatan use this experience to bring back some humility- I'm still hoping that Juve win their game because they've already been through so much humiliation i.e last season!!
But it's only the second week so a lot can still happen.... hopefully for the better.

Society..

... Does anyone stop to think that all this political correct hoopla is turning us all into a bunch of wimps? And doesn't it go against the whole freedom of speech by actually repressing it and instead of something coming out in small doses, now it violently erupts like an active volcano.

With all this so called protections and restrictions on what we can or cannot say is just turning us into softies, I mean one bad word and we're going to be crying to our mothers. I mean people need to be exposed to some negative behaviour in order to better handle it when it comes bursting out of some drunken yob.

Just think about it...

The Old Lady Vs Juve...

I sat bored with nothing to do and I just began to randomly type in things into google. The resulting data was surprising and rather hilarious- Juventus actually is Latin for youth yet their nickname is the Old Lady and some of the tactics go against youth...Yes you all got it I'm once again referring to the sale of Diego. At only 25 one would have hoped or expected them to keep him especially since the name of the club is Youth!! With all due respect can Alex Del Piero really keep playing at such a high level.. The guy is 36 after all, yet Luigi Del Neri has brushed off remarks from Diego and has claimed that the talinsmatic Del Piero is his Diego- okay but for how long? And Amauri and Iaquinta are not really spring chicken, bot in their 30's. But who am I to go against the great minds in Turin, it just seems like they're not taken into account the long term implications.

But it's not all doom and gloom, Juve do have some youth in Claudio Marchisio. Giorgio Chiellini, Poalo De Ceglie, Milos Krasic, Leonardo Bonucci and Davide Lanzafame. But Italian footballing culture is always distrusting of their youth product like with Sebastian Giovinco who only had a cameo appearance last season but there are some exceptions but those are awfully rare.. Well only time will tell if this old lady will be given a nip/ tuck.

The world today..

... What is wrong with the world today I hear you ask, well there are a number of things but first of all it comes to the very simply answer... stupid people have been given more power and they're actually starting to think that they're important. For instance; teenagers have been given too much spending power hence the whole Twilight mania. Because they are the ones buying this crap it has become everywhere and is difficult if not impossible to get away from. In my day I had to give a full explanation to my parents if I wanted money and if it was going to be spent on something so frivolous I wasn't given any. Kids today have not got that kind of discipline, they just do what they want when they want because they know they face no consequence. Someone needs to explain to them that no one cares what they think and when they go out to the big wide world, they're just as insignificant as the rest of us.

Just look at the cast of the Hills, now what have they achieved in their pathetic little lives to get their own television show??? And again I answer, they have done nothing!! They are just a bunch of spoilt, slutty rich kids with narcissistic tendencies, and it says more about the people who watch these shows then the people actually in them. The people who watch those shows aspire to be like that, it's their goal to become like that and let me tell you that's a little sad. Who wants to be a " bobble head" or look like barbie ie Heidi. It's all very sad, all the kids now just aspire to be really skinny and on TV instead of nurturing the mind and I weep for the future of humanity..
