Slavery and Employment- What's the difference?

A wise man once said that the difference between slavery and employment was the fact that employment only had to be temporary, it doesn't seem to be the case anymore! Not only do people have to work long into retirement age but now they are not even guaranteed a good retirement because the banksters have swindled the whole population out of there pensions!

 People are not even able to feed themselves now on what they make!! The working poor is the new normal and people have been tricked into believing that has always been the case. Not only have people been forced to work longer hours for less money many people are living in a constant fear of losing their jobs. This constant anxiety and pressure can only lead to a society full of mentally ill people. How is this a developed society??? I don't belive this is good for the long term, how can it be??

When it is so easy to lose your job and every thing you own?? People have been forced into these low paying jobs because they know that society frowns on the unemployed, and any job is better than no job, one thing is for sure....Employers are loving it, they can have all the power. I believe that working is good but I don't believe your whole life should be about working. In a developed society people should be able to appreciate the value of art and the beauty of nature and not just be focused on getting pissed every Friday night!

It seems more and more true how little the opinions of the actual people mean didley squat! Governments are not listening and we are the ones who will have to pay when it all falls to pieces- just look at the bankers, the Government let the run a casino style banking system and when the inevitable banking collapse happened they decided to bail them out using our taxes, while the people suffer austerity and price hikes! And it's not as though the banksters have stopped screwing us over, they have just come up with different names for it!

People talk about the crash as if it's history and we don't have to worry about it... but it's only evolving into a bigger crisis, people are just not paying attention they would rather learn more about Kim and Kanye's wedding..it's pathetic!

Governments are more concerned with their next big pay off than they are with the will or well being of the people they are supposedly meant to represent. Another major example of Government corruption is this push towards Hydraulic Fracturing or " Fracking". It has been proven that it is dangerous and ineffective and in the age of major climate change ( which is no longer debatable!) is not exactly very smart.

The States have been doing this for over a decade and have all the negatives and none of the supposed benefits from it, and the North America is rather large, how much shale gas do you think is on this teeny tiny island???!! It's not as though the people across the pond are rolling around in cash- maybe the corporations but the people are struggling to feed, clothe or even to find a safe place to spend the night- SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME, WHY DO WE CONTINUE TO FOLLOW A FAILING MODEL??

The very definition of insanity is; doing the same thing over and over expecting different result. Does anyone see a pattern, just look at this "country", it's not a country its basically the 51st state of America.

This country lacks the imagination to do anything different, people here believe that just because we have malls ( like the States) and media (like the States) that it enough to be thought of as a developed world- but places like India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia also have this and you know what else they have.... the death penalty, is that where we're headed?

How could we have let this happen?

It makes me rather sad when I talk to people... why?? Because they seem to forget everything that has happened in the past years and just remember what has been in the " news" recently. People forget about things like the Libor scandal, subprime morgages, predetory lending, the phone hacking scandal, NSA scandal- which includes our Government sharing our data with the states, David Miranda being held for 9 hours at Heathrow as part of a scare tactic by our Government,CLIMATE CHANGE!!! The list goes on forever and people are not seeing how all this is forcing our society to close, so when I hear people refer to this country as " democratic" and be snobbish to any culture that is different to the Anglo- Saxon ways... I get a little frustrated!

 The most serious situation and the one incident that has been overlooked by the major news networks but is more of a threat than the terrorism threat that has been paraded in every form known to man, is climate change. Haven't people noticed how more extreme the weather is and how our summers are getting shorter and shorter? Britain can't even cope when we get a bit of snow, when that happens the whole of the country shuts down and how much damage did the recent floods do to the already failing infrastructure? What do you think that's going to do to the " economy"? People will not be able to adapt because it's happening too quickly, we have condemed all the species on this planet and all because we were too stupid and slow to see the signs and try to do something about it, all this talk now is just a band aid to the problem, because we've past the point where we could have done anything about it.

  Yet most mainstream news channels will only dedicate 2 minutes and most of that time is used to place doubt into our minds. How can there still be debate around it when in any given day it can suddenly feel like Summer and then go directly to Winter in a matter of hours?!!! Society gets to easily distracted by the trivial things like UKiP, The X Factor, The Eurovision song contest and the Royals, I mean people are more invested in what their football team is doing than the fact that they continues to get financially raped by the " Banksters". I implore people to stop and pay attention to what's going on all around you, people are suffering in this so called Great Britain and the media is doing a bang up job brushing it all under the rug!

PAY ATTENTION. And don't follow the sheep.

Juventus are out of Europe and the fairytale ending that they wanted has gone up in smoke. This defeat is not such a bad thing, I mean they made in to the semi- finals against a very stubborn and organised Benfica. Antonio Conte may bemoan that the better team lost but I just saw at as one team sticking to their main objective and Juve not having the cutting edge on the night to break them down. I don't like to see such a respected Coach act like this, he should just try to understand why they couldn't break them down and come up with a way to deal with this kind of situation in the future.

 Always look for the positive- after dealing with the shock and heartbreak that is! ( talking from personal experience!) The Old Lady had a phenomenal amount of chances that were either to weak or off target, so maybe Conte should be working on that because he doesn't want to be likened to a certain Portugese Coach! This loss to a very defensive Benfica should at lest show certain people ( you know who you are!) the importance of defending and how Italian teams are not the sole league who rely on this. But it should also show how they have lost a bit, just look at the first leg when they let in the first goal from a set play. I'm proud to be a Juventus fan as they showed great character and I do hope this helps to wipe out some of the stereotypes people have about Italian football.
