How Rome failed us...

Inter v Roma was a match that you thought was a foregone conclusion, but wait... it was almost a perfect comeback, but Inter have a knack of getting the win anyway. It is like a universal law in Serie A, teams may dislike each other, but everyone HATES Inter. They have a certain evilness about them, when things don't seem to go the way they want they lash out, get extremely petulant and use underhanded tactic to try and get players sent off.

Last nights game was so cruel as Roma played some very attacking football, but the defence was a bit suspect, but the same can also be said about Inter. Inter only prevailed because they had so many players who are attack minded and a certain annoying, short Dutchman in Wesley Sneijder!

Roma were without the talismatic Totti through illness but they put in an admirable performance with out him. The might of Rome was brought down by their own foolishness as Nicolas Burdisso saw red in the 62nd minute and Roma had to play the rest of the game with 10 men. I have to admit my heart did slump in my chest and I was all but ready to change the channel, but deep in my heart I knew Inter had flaws, like Maicon who likes nothing more than bombing it forward, helping the attack but ultimately leaving a gap for Roma to exploit, but that was made ten times more difficult since they were down to 10 men. But one must realise that while Inter have a formidable attack, they are still lead by a novice. Leonardo may have the hugs and kisses down.. but he still has to work on the tactical side of the game.

Raineri is an experienced manager with stints all over Europe, and it was this reason I kept watching. And I'm so glad I did because in the 75th minute Vucinic and then Loria scored but as fate would have it so did Cambiasso, and it ended 5-3 to the Nerazzurri.
