Juventus v Bari..

The first game of the season was against Bari and they lost 1-0, so it was not a surprise that I feared the worst given their growing injury list. They have lost Quagliarella, Toni, De Ceglie, Grosso, Amauri, Ianquinta, Marchiso and Melo through suspension, so it was of no surprise that I would be nervous. And even though Bari are currently propping up the table just meant that they were going to be tricky, because when you are so low in the ranks no one expects you to do anything and that is often the best time to strike.

To my relief, Juve won by 2 goals but it wasn't as easy as they thought it was going to be and some of the youngster began to show their inexperience. This was evident as Edgar Alvarez managed to brush aside Sorenson and had the space to put in the cross where Rudolf got the best of Buffon and scored the equalize that put them back in the game.

Juve's first goal was a sublime free- kick from Del Piero just before half time, but one has to think why couldn't they score in open play?? I mean it was only Bari, and why did it take Aquilani 79 minutes to score the winner. This can be worrying because how would they have done against a better team?

Now I'm delighted with the latest wins but lets not get ahead of ourselves, The Old Lady has shown some frailties and some lapses in judgement, so put the celebrations on hold for a while, because after all it is a long season..
