The problem with The Old Lady.

After just watching one of the Biaconeri's games, I can already see them making the same mistakes. In the first game of the season Del Neri though it would be a good idea to place six of the new recruits in the starting 11. This was a mistake as new players need time to gel with the team. This just lead to a lack of familiarity and caused confusion and hence they were outplayed by Bari. The way in which you can aide in the "gelling" of the team is if there is a sound tactical plan, they get to play together with the same players and if they can avoid injury.

The tactics that Del Neri has decided to go with has left his team looking confused and like a bunch of amateurs, he often plays certain players in positions that don't come naturally to them.

And with the departure of David Trezeguet and with injuries to Amauri and Iaqunita they also lack the killer instinct that is required to win games. Don't get me wrong Del Piero is a legend, but he no longer has the legs needed to carry on playing for the full 90 minutes.

It is a long season and it would be unwise to judge them on the first game, after all it's not a sprint it's a marathon and it's all about endurance.
