Let's keep things simple....

... This shouldn't be the case, but you see it happening everywhere.
From movies to the news, everything is the simplest it can possible be, but this shouldn't be the case. You may think that movies are pure entertainment and thus have no real influence on our minds, well you'd be wrong. Most people spend a lot of time watching movies, and by being exposed to that type of media will inevitable have subtle influences on the way you perceive the world around you, and if this starts simplify complex story-lines you will find it harder to understand complex issues like politics and the environment. Your brain is a muscle and like every muscle if you stop using it, it will become flabby and useless and being exposed to things that require no higher thinking is not good.

The mainstream news has pounced on this and has turned complex issue like wars and terrorism and made them simple by just calling the evil and we're the heroes... but you see people life isn't that simple and it is irresponsible for them to do so, as we see now people have started to equate all brown people with fanatic and killers. In my opinion the "news" media are the one who are the fanatic, they see things as one of two way-" you're either with us or against us" but the fact is, the whole story is often more complicated than that and when the media does this simple way of reporting it looks more like propaganda than news.

Even politicians have been reduced to soundbites and catchphrase but none of them have any real substance and for a potential leader I would rather have someone who can properly articulate his plans rather than a bumper sticker leader. But because people have been conditioned over the years to pay attention to whomever has the catchiest catchphrase, getting someone with intelligence and someone with a viable plan for the country is looking less likely.

People should be aware that the mere fact that we are able to understand complex ideas, is what separates us from animals, so tell me, what does that mean about us??
