There was the faint hope that he might stay in Italy when there were rumours that Fiorentina were looking for a midfielder to replace Montolivo... but it wasn't meant to be. Montolivo has been linked to a move to North London club Arsenal, so La Viola will want to fill in the gap left by his departure. However it seemed that the Liverpool midfielder was considered to be too expensive for the side from Florence.
Does anyone feel the slightest feeling of guilt for Aqulani's current predicament. The poor soul had made it clear that he desired to stay in Italy, and no one can really blame him, Juve had the whole year to play with him, then they dump him on the last day- they are as fickle as they come... but not as much as the media. They have decided to tag former Juve player Diego as a flop. Now this is not only unfair but it is not true, he was the only glimmer in a side that suffered from injuries and a change in regime.
Diego might return to Italy, and I hope he shows everyone that it wasn't he who was the flop!
