You can’t can you?
Has anyone ever noticed the alarming similarity be the
American foreign and domestic policies to the Cylons from the Battlestar
Galactica TV show? I know there’s a book called “Cylons in America”, but has
anyone given it any real thought? I did and it’s rather disturbing. The Cylons
like the US, believe they are special and chosen by God to fix this world and
make it in their image- American exceptionlism
anyone!!! This whole belief that they are special and better than
everyone else, this is basically the same thing.
The Cylons also believe that because they have a more
advanced military program that they have the right to squash anyone- starting
to sound familiar?! Uncle Sam sees any form of resistance as a threat to their
dominance and will use their military might to stop it in its tracks. One has
to wonder whether they suffer from some form of mental illness.
They, like the Cylons believe they are freeing people, when
in fact they have become the oppressive force. They both are like schoolyard
bullies, they steal your lunch money and punch you in the gut everyday and then
wonder why they have no friends!!
The compulsive need to be seen as the white knight is rather
delusional on their part. There is no question now that they are bullies, just
look at how they are dealing with this whole Snowden issue, bulling and
intimidation.
All this kid did was dare to speak the truth in a country
that deals in lies, firstly they went after his image and personal life,
stopped him from travelling by revoking his passport and then trapped him in a
state of limbo, because he had nowhere safe to go because they would intimidate
and bully any country that dared to help him.
But the very first thing they did was charge him with espionage, now
unless they consider their own people to be the enemy, I don’t see how exposing
YOUR illegal practices to the public makes him a traitor. But then I forget we
live in a closed society or more accurately, a Fascist society, so why does
everyone preach democracy?? In order for there to be a functional democracy,
you must allow all free speech, not only the type that benefits you.
These rights that we enjoy, the right to free speech, the
right to assemble, freedom of expression and the right to religious freedom
amongst others were only achieved because people fought for them and exercised
these rights without being portrayed as a traitor. That is why when I see this
blatant erosion of our rights and the public not even blinking, it makes me sad
and disappointed at the same time. Once these
rights have disappeared completely, people will begin to realise how lucky we
were to have those rights.
Getting back to my original comparison, the only difference
between them and the Cylons are that the Cylons learned to appreciate life and
had the ability to learn from their mistakes, whereas across the pond they are
indifferent to life and death and continue to make the same mistakes and
continue to hope for a different outcome- this is remarkably similar to the
definition of insanity.
I fear for the future of humanity when people like this have
such influence and such dominance over us all.
