Cylons V America- Spot the difference...

You can’t can you?

Has anyone ever noticed the alarming similarity be the American foreign and domestic policies to the Cylons from the Battlestar Galactica TV show? I know there’s a book called “Cylons in America”, but has anyone given it any real thought? I did and it’s rather disturbing. The Cylons like the US, believe they are special and chosen by God to fix this world and make it in their image- American exceptionlism  anyone!!! This whole belief that they are special and better than everyone else, this is basically the same thing.

The Cylons also believe that because they have a more advanced military program that they have the right to squash anyone- starting to sound familiar?! Uncle Sam sees any form of resistance as a threat to their dominance and will use their military might to stop it in its tracks. One has to wonder whether they suffer from some form of mental illness.

They, like the Cylons believe they are freeing people, when in fact they have become the oppressive force. They both are like schoolyard bullies, they steal your lunch money and punch you in the gut everyday and then wonder why they have no friends!!

The compulsive need to be seen as the white knight is rather delusional on their part. There is no question now that they are bullies, just look at how they are dealing with this whole Snowden issue, bulling and intimidation.

All this kid did was dare to speak the truth in a country that deals in lies, firstly they went after his image and personal life, stopped him from travelling by revoking his passport and then trapped him in a state of limbo, because he had nowhere safe to go because they would intimidate and bully any country that dared to help him.  But the very first thing they did was charge him with espionage, now unless they consider their own people to be the enemy, I don’t see how exposing YOUR illegal practices to the public makes him a traitor. But then I forget we live in a closed society or more accurately, a Fascist society, so why does everyone preach democracy?? In order for there to be a functional democracy, you must allow all free speech, not only the type that benefits you.
These rights that we enjoy, the right to free speech, the right to assemble, freedom of expression and the right to religious freedom amongst others were only achieved because people fought for them and exercised these rights without being portrayed as a traitor. That is why when I see this blatant erosion of our rights and the public not even blinking, it makes me sad and disappointed at the same time.  Once these rights have disappeared completely, people will begin to realise how lucky we were to have those rights.

Getting back to my original comparison, the only difference between them and the Cylons are that the Cylons learned to appreciate life and had the ability to learn from their mistakes, whereas across the pond they are indifferent to life and death and continue to make the same mistakes and continue to hope for a different outcome- this is remarkably similar to the definition of insanity.

I fear for the future of humanity when people like this have such influence and such dominance over us all.

Feudal Britain

I lay awake last night just thinking about where we are heading, and it’s rather disturbing. People in this country know surprisingly little about what’s going on in the world, they are just so easily distracted by such meaningless things like the royals. In a time of never ending austerity thanks in large part to the enormous bailout given to the bankers by the government via our tax money, the queen gets a £5m bonus and how expensive do you think all the royal events are- ASTRONOMICAL! Now where as in most European countries like Spain, the royalty have been getting a pay cut for some years now, Lizzy over here gets a pay rise, and for doing what? It’s outrageous I tell you and the fact that there is no outrage over here says a lot, people here are mere subjects not citizens they have no rights! How in the hell is this country better than the third world???

We are going to be suffering from austerity for an estimated 5 years!!  How the hell does that make any sense? We are suffering because of the fact that the powers that be thought it would be wise to deregulate everything and throw all the important things like public transport and utilities into private hands!! It’s good for the country. They bellowed from the great heights of not having to give a damm while the people are being continually screwed with hiked prices and poor service. It’s not as though people have a choice about where they can get the energy to warm their homes or how to get to work, all the major energy companies are in cohorts, so you can either get screwed by them or someone else, because at the end of the day the private businessmen don’t give a flying monkeys whether you’re satisfied, they just have their eyes squarely fixed on one thing- the bottom line, which is the profit margin!

People may claim that Capitalism is the great evil of the world and that austerity should be scrapped, I tend to disagree, before you decide to publically flog me hear me out. True Capitalism is about competition and choice, what we have here is CRONY CAPITALISM. This is when the success of a business depends on their close relationship of government officials and business people.  If I’m not mistaken, isn’t that a major proponent in Fascism? Think about it! And austerity wouldn't be such a bad thing if it was aimed at the right people. Why do the people who have so little have to suffer so much? The private sector is getting hit the hardest; these are organisations that ACTUALLY help the public like: education, welfare and the NHS.

In the end this country is going to be full of idiots because they can’t afford to go to school or homeless, because they have no access to any help or worse, people are just going to start to die off because they have no access to medical assistance.  Oh what a wonderful world we live in and better yet, for future generations to live in.

So long Emanuele

Despite my obvious sadness about him leaving for Sunderland, I know that Antonio Conte is a very smart man and he has a plan. I still feel sorry for Giaccherini as he wanted to stay and was willing to be a bit part player and didn't make a fuss about only making a hand full of appearances last season.

28 year old Giaccherini may only be 5ft 6in, but the versatile winger has proved to the world that he has what it take to play against anyone- as he showed against Brazil in the Confederation Cup, so I hope Sunderland appreciate what they got.
"Jack" has won 2 Scudetti, a Super Coppa Italiana and has a Coppa Italia runners up medal, so I beleive he will only have good memories of The Old Lady.

It is reported that Sunderland paid a fee of £6.9m, which Juve are  going to use to cover the deal with Carlos Tevez. They are also moving towards capturing Bologna star man Diamanti. I just hope that Conte has a plan...

Good luck Giaccherini, you'll be missed!.

Emanuele Giaccherini

There are disturbing reports that "Jack" might leave Turin for Sunderland?? Or I should say be pushed into leaving as he has indicated that he would like to stay with Juve. Antonio Conte can surely not be that short sighted.. can he?

Clearly from his performance in the Confederation Cup has made it clear that he is rather talented, it would truly
be sad if you believe he would be better of in a league where they despise talent and are constantly trying to kick it out of you, Juventus are rumored to sell De Ceglie to Stoke City, which I find baffling, sending a player that is easily injured to the harshest league doesn't really make sense.

Giaccherini has proved his worth and I believe that if they want to compete in Europe, they need all the talent they can get, it will also be sad for Italian football, as we know that once they leave the Peninsular it is highly doubtful that they will return in any capacity, I am referring to his time with the Azzurri but also the league will lose it's credibility and be known as a selling league. I urge the Italians to keep and nurture their talent, just look at the Bundesligue- it will lead to greater things!

Don't do this!

They act... We suffer.. We Mutate?

Does anyone remember a time where there was no such thing as organic food, it was all just food? Of course no one remembers, it seems so far away, but look at how far we have gone, it’s great isn’t it?! in case you didn't
pick it up, I’m being sarcastic!
Food is meant to have nutritional value and add something to your life, all we get now is piles and piles of empty calories designed purely to never fully satisfy you and make you morbidly obese.  Whereas before people would occasionally treat themselves to a sugary dessert, now you won’t be able to just have one, you’ll have a ton before you even get full, they have now designed sweets to never fully satisfy you and always leave you wanting more. This will not only lead to you gaining weight but will also lead to a plethora of illnesses.
Is this what the people of this country want, to be so fat that they can’t climb a flight of stairs without losing their breath?  The government certainly does, it will certainly cut back the amount of people who can protest! Now the government plans to enter GMO’s into the mix, oh, what a wise government- I think not!
GMO stands for genetically modified organism. This is where scientist essentially play God by adding, removing or in most cases manipulating the genes in an organism to make it stronger and more resistant to pests and insecticides and to try and make sure they have a longer shelf life.  This may sound marvelous, but what many people don’t know is that the company that makes the GMO crops is the same company that makes the pesticides, so in the end, it is not about giving you the best foods, but to make a multibillion dollar company more money!
What kind of government puts the will of big corporations ahead of the people they are ELECTED to serve? There is a very simple answer.. And it’s this government, especially when they also will find a way to make a huge profit. This country is heading the same way as the US, the people over there have been eating GMO foods for years now, and just look at the results, growing obesity, increased intolerance to foods, how many people do you know who are allergic to peanuts so violently that they might die?
Is this really where we want to be?  People always forget to mention a little detail when it comes to GMO foods and the US people- they have no labeling system, so they would be none the wiser. How democratic is that, you’re not giving the people a choice? Now over here we have labeling but if GM crops are in farm (factory) how do you know they have not mixed into your food? Even if you were a vegetarian, you still wouldn't be safe because if the cow is feeding on GMO seeds, than it is highly likely that the milk you pour into your tea is contaminated.
If we do accept this, it will fast become a slippery slope into rising illness and NHS bills. How can you people look at the US and say that you want to be like them??!!
